Cocktails and Quarantine – Let’s get summer started!

Summer is here, we need a way to fight the quarantine blues.  Here is an easy way to become your own mixologist!  Virtual happy hours with friends and family is the latest trend, and what could be better than getting together with the tribe and learning to make a new drink together?  Here we have three simple drinks to make at home (and look like a master while doing it!)

Alcohol - Cocktails and Quarantine – Let’s get summer started!

1. Strawberry Lemon Mimosa: Who doesn’t like a mimosa to kick off the weekend?  Their sparkle and beauty seem to go hand in hand with brunch (or the screen?).  This light and airy drink is so simple to make, and only needs three ingredients!

Ingredients:

Strawberry Puree – Add fresh, washed and hulled strawberries to a blender, blending until smooth.

Lemonade – Use your favorite brand of lemonade or make your own!

The Bubbly – We love champagne, but you can use your favorite chilled sparkling wine or prosecco for this cocktail.

Get to mixing:

  1. Grab your favorite glass.  If you want to go fancy, champagne flutes work well.  If you want to indulge, grab any cocktail glass or even, a pint glass (we don’t judge!)
  2. Add the strawberry puree, followed by your lemonade.
  3. Top with champagne and serve.
  4. Optional: Add a strawberry or lemon slice as a garnish.

5 mint leaves

3 fresh blackberries

Ice

Get to mixing:

  1. Grab your favorite cocktail glass.
  2. Add lime juice, simple syrup, berries and mint leaves to your glass, and muddle them together.
  3. Add your bourbon.
  4. Fill your glass with ice.
  5. Top off with soda and gently stir.

¼ ounce of fresh-squeezed lime juice

½ ounce of simple syrup
